Let's Dance!
It's time to join the Sand Witches at King Richard's Faire !
Important information, Timeline, and Hints:
New and Returning Dancers - Here's your info!
- Make sure to buy your tickets for you your tribe prior to arriving. Use our group discount code WDance-KRF23 for a witchy discount!
- Tickets bought physically at the Faire are CASH only and have very long lines - don't use this option.
- Take a screenshot of your tickets. Wifi is non-existent at the faire. Pass the long ticket purchase lines and go to the short lines for purchased ticket holders.
- Dress witchy and bring a broom/walking stick. Alternate magical costumes are accepted but it is a "witch dance". Pin your hat, test dancing with your broom, and wear sensible witch shoes. It's the woods. We dance in sand. Dress in layers as the temps vary in the woods. Remember the bathrooms are less than enjoyable, so plan easy pee-sy access and what you don't want to hit a port-o-potty floor.
- We dance rain or shine.
Timing:
- 12:15 Line up for the Royal Parade (by the privies aka restrooms/first aid to the right prior to the tournament field).
- 1:00 Rehearse at the entrance to the tournament field and sign waiver. You CANNOT enter the field without signing/rehearsing. Please note: We will not rehearse to the original song - it will play during the performance.
- 2 pm Meet at the Mural at the entrance to the tournament field for the 2:15 performance.
- 4:30 Meet at the Mural at the entrance to the tournament field for the 4:45 performance.
- Have fun at the faire outside these times. The dance is only 3 minutes, so you have plenty of time to enjoy!
Hints for King Richard's Faire:
- Arrive early. Even with tickets, you can be turned away if the faire reaches capacity (which happens generally by noon/1 pm). There is generally a 2 hour traffic jam, 2 hour wait to get in, and 2 hours to get food. Get there early and enjoy the experience.
- Cash is King at the faire. Buy your food tickets early in the day. There are long lines at the ATM. Vendors do take cards.
- There is no leaving/readmittance to the faire.
- Wifi/Cell service is non-existent in the woods. Plan meet up times/locations with your tribe in case you get separated.
- You can bring an empty water bottle/vessel, but outside beverages are not permitted. They often check bags.
- The faire and dance happen rain or shine. There are no refunds due to weather.
We are excited to dance with you all! Reach out with any questions or for some witchy support.

Special Information about Dancing at KRF:
We dance on the tournament field - deep, uneven sand. Plan to minimize some of the "fancy footwork". For example, instead of step and touch, you can step and hold, or minimize foot movement on major turns.
Many members join us at larger festivals, so they learn via tutorial online. To help build consistency, we hold our broom in the right hand and do most of the actions clockwise.
